That is still not punishment enough. Those kids' reputations will be tarnished forever.

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

I don't think so. The issue is so widely known that anyone recognizing they are meeting one of the three, will cut them a break and be overly lenient. By that I mean, I think they will receive a little favoritism over others. The first evidence of that was the ACC Presidents voting an added year of eligibility and the NCAA allowing it.
There have been numerous others that were suspended by the school, lost a year and were not the reicpients of added eligibility if found not guilty.
Don't get me wrong here, but the reason the Duke president cancelled the season was because of chronic unruly behavior of the team and that occurred before the indictments. Had he waited, his action would have been against the three indicted, not the team.
Clearly the 3 indicted were screwed by a ruthless prosecutor, but I question bestowing a year of eligility for all when in fact the initial condemnation by the president was for the current and past actions.
Everyone will forever know Duke lacrosse players hired black strippers for parties.
Is that something to be proud of?
Big, guys hire strippers of all colors everyday of the week, you know, stag parties. Heck, I know a bunch of young women at work that get their jollies going to strip clubs - and not to see guys dance. It not an issue to be considered. It will be ignored.

Thank you -- obviously what happened to those three accused was horrible, but I think it's also important to remember that this team had been out of control for years.
And you are also correct that these guys will have absolutely zero trouble finding jobs. Not that it makes up for what they've been through, but at the very least, the alumni network will make sure they are set for life with pretty good jobs.
They had other schools lined up recruiting them, and companies offering internships, etc etc.
They are being treated like celebrities around here with this media circus. The lacrosse team had record high attendance this season. I even saw someone wearing a Dook Lacrosse t-shirt in downtown Chapel Hill.

Imagine if they did in fact rape that stripper......Hmmmm
Even if they did (which I don't believe), that doesn't change the fact that Nifong acted unethically and tried to railroad them. Their guilt or innocence has no bearing on his transgressions.
