Default Online dog sale sites?

We have pure breed dogs that had their first litter. We are advertising in our local newspaper that also has a online ad.

Surprisingly Craig's list does not allow pet sales.

Has anyone ever used other online sites or have ideas for other online places to sell or advertise pups?

Isn't it illegal unless its the dealers doing so?

As the owners of AKC registered dogs with a registered puppy litter it is certainly not illegal to sell pups. I'm not aware of any state in the USA where it would be illegal to sell pups that are registered or not.

Laws may vary from state to state as to what makes a seller a "breeder" or a simple private seller.

Internet sales are few and far between because potential owners want to see the temperament of the little doggie since they are buying a pet not a stud.

you wouldn't want to know the temperament of a stud you were buying? lol.

Any chance they are working quality dogs that have titles outside of the show ring and AKC events? Workingdogforum may be a place to advertise, but most people there are looking for protection sport breeds or labs that have over-the-top drive.

What breed are they?

I used gundogbreeders.com to find a breeder for the GSP I'm picking up on the 31st.

I agree that I'd never buy without being able to see the bitch work and get a few references from past litters, but I never would have found this particular breeder without the internet.

I will go ahead and agree that I would pay the most attention to the female. One of the more successful breeders in the country/world for ring sports said that about 70% of the breeding is the female, and I don't think that number is too far off. Of course ideally for a working prospect I'd like to know about the top and bottom of the pedigree if I could.

But if the dog is going to "just" be a pet I would be happy with the puppy as long as it was confident, the bitch is social with good nerves, and both parents have good health scores.

My dogs are English Mastiffs. I have 1 adult male and 2 adult females (sisters).

Dogs don't get much bigger for a home protection/companion type animal.

Mastiffs can take 3 to 4 years of age to reach their full size.

My male is just over 2 years old and is taller then average at just over 31 inches tall at the shoulders. Although he probably wont' get any taller he won't get to his full weight potential until he is fully mature.

As an example, the father of my 2 adult females weighed in at 220 pounds.

This is our first pup litter so we are starting a new breeding history with these pups.

I understand there are champions on the female side of the bloodline but I haven't spent the money yet for the detailed history for how many generations back the champions are.

Wow! Those are some huge dogs!

I just thought of something. Many breeds have state and national breed clubs who also have websites that will allow members to post when litters are available. I know that's one of the first places I looked when I was looking for a German Shorthair Pointer. Just a thought.
