Don't think I've posted at the other site for quite a few months now. Though I don't get the chance to post here as much as I'd like to, this is home, this is more like family, everyone here is excellent. The respect and integrity factor is 10 times better here.

This upcoming season should be the best yet on these boards. Homer's right - this years TWT NCAA get together should be the biggest.

Today, an old friend from theMat.com ran across my email address and asked me to come back there. He has visited here a little, but that remains his home, although he has agreed to give us another try. He asked why I left and why I haven't returned. This was my reply:

I was never banned from TheMat. I left because friends of mine and others
were being banned and posts were being deleted, both without any
explanation. Several times I asked in a very polite and respectful manner
why this was happening and what rules were being violated, but no reply was
given. To quote the very well known Glen Close line, "I will not be
ignored!" I simply resented their heavy handed tactics and felt much more at
    home and welcome at TWT.

I welcome a heated discussion as well, and in fact am often able to better
refine and redefine my own thoughts as a result of an intelligent exchange.
There are several subjects about which I feel strongly (euthanasia, gay
rights, religion in government, sportsmanship, etc.), and a mature
discussion 1) helps me sort out my thoughts, and 2) gives me an appreciation
of and respect for the other side's point of view. I have found that on
TheMat, these issues usually degenerate into name-calling, Bible thumping,
illogical arguments, and/or long and tedious links to junk science sites.
Recent glimpses over there have shown me that nothing has changed. I could live with this if it were the only game in town, but it isn't. Now we have
our share of assholes at TWT just like anywhere else, but the moderators are
very user friendly. They will warn someone if he/she is getting out of line
and will shut down, but not necessarily delete, a thread that is headed in
the wrong direction. That said, they are by no means quick with the red
pencil, and I've seen a lot of stuff go down that I would have deleted. At
any rate, they always offer an explanation and even have a separate forum
    for Suggestions.

Also, there are many superior technical features at TWT, most of which I
don't even use, but it is easy to navigate and much easier to communicate
with other forum members both publicly and privately. We share photos and
have a genuine feeling of camaraderie that I never felt on TheMat. You
probably don't feel comfortable with it simply because it is unfamiliar. I
think if you give it a little more time, you will feel right at home. I know
you will be welcomed by everyone and your input will be appreciated.

I won't identify him, so don't ask, but he would definitely be an asset to our community.

Spider any friend of yours is welcome here. Of course that doesn't need to be said.

However, i think I know who you are talking about. I will keep my guess to myself.
