Thread: Obesity

    Default Obesity

I just took my daughter to see the new movie WALL-E and it portrayed the human civilization as super extreme fat lazy people. Do to the technology,we do not have to do anything and we get fat, lazy and even somewhat dumb. I know it is far fetched but I was amazed that Pixar would go controversial. I actually sat next to some overweight people and they were getting upset at the portrayal.
Are we going to end up fat lazy people that have carts roll us everywhere?

It would be cool to be the smartest man on Earth.
I would be smart enough to not get lazy!!! I was not trying to hurt anybodies feelings about weight, I was just relaying the message of the movie and how we are getting lazier due to technology.

Yea, I know what you meant.. but it doesn't really have anything to do with technology.. South Korea & Japan are much more technologically advanced than the United States yet they remain healthy..

Don't know - but I will wait until Netflix can send the movie to my house and I can watch it sitting on my couch. Too much work to go to the theater.

Not so Schlottke! Japan and South Korea are starting to deal with obesity as well. Its just that they are genetically skinny people so it takes them longer to get fat.

Yes but South Korea has been doing well economically only the past 20 years or so. Give it another 20 and at current pace the obesity will be 20-30%.
