A bear had crossed the stream and was travelling through their campsite - between mom and the kids. According to my friend, when the scream started, the bear looked up to see what the noise was. He saw the woman, looked around in some confusion, then saw the kids. He looked back and forth between the woman and the kids a couple of times before recognition set in. "Holy Cripes, I'm between a mother and her cubs!" He left the campsite in a full, rolling gallup.

I don't know if it's considered touristy, but for breakfast, I always used to stop at Nora's in Wilson on the way to JHMR.
Amazing stories of three bear sightings. Most people are lucky to see on on the next ridgeline over, if at all. Thanks for the pics. Awesome stuff!

Try the lamb at the Blue Lion for dinner. Mountain High Pizza is good but believe it or not the pizza at Dornan's is even better!

Driving the pass at night in the winter wasn't a ton of fun, so we usually cruised back to Victor or Driggs for dinner.
I'll keep that in mind when I get back to Jackson though. I've got my fiancee talked into moving west, so we're heading out to check out Salt Lake City for our honeymoon in November. With any luck, I'll be living out there by this time next summer, and making weekend trips to JHMR and Grand Targhee when they get a good powder dump.

When your heading to Driggs from Jackson, there was a little pub/grill at the bottom of the pass. Do you know the name of it or if it's still there?
Also, Bubba's BBQ is a good place....or was. | | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
