One might want to be careful of ones nickname. A coach named Adam Keiswetter at UN-Kearney calls himself the master of the twister (cement job - and a really good one). Guess what took the roof of his apartment off while we were in Kearney?
I am 49, bald, ugly, and don't own a single cool thing. Kids like me though.
Reni and I stayed outside and watched the show. The Hotel staff would chase us in and then we'd go out again - Reni and I are both weather junkies - know a lot about tornadoes - and there is no way we were going to miss this. I was just tracking the funnels and watching for debree(sp).
Watching the clouds rotate like that above you is weird. There were funnels all over the place and three actually touched down, one little one (F-0) right on us. We saw the large f-2 (a mile away or so) that did most of the damage when it took out three transformers one after another. The good news is while there was a lot of damage nobody got hurt.
Now I don't have to spend a lot of money to go storm chasing..... one came to us.
