Thread: College baseball fans?

    Default College baseball fans?

Are any of you keeping up with college baseball playoffs? If so, did you see what Florida State pulled off? They are the number 4 overall seed, and got shut out in game one. The kid from Bucknell threw a gem, and blanked them. he went the distance, throwing over 150 pitches. Needing to win 4 in a row to advance, the offense that got shut out in game 1, scored 17, 24, 17 and 16 in the next four to advance them to the super regionals.

I am. Carolina is hosting a Super Regional this weekend and I'll be there. Hoping for our 3rd straight trip to Omaha. I think we're due to win it after finishing 2nd the last two years.

They look tough. Only UNC and Miami beat FSU in series this year, and they were both 2-1 and close in the third game. In the case my Noles get knocked out, I usually cheer for the ACC teams (excluding Miami, for obvious reasons!)

Following it here, one of our boys, (WSU) had been cut from Oklahoma State a couple of years ago, in game 2 of the regional, playing against his old team, he drove in a run in the 9th to tie the game. In the 10th, he hit a grand slam to win the game. Was pulling for a Tulane win against FSU to host the Super, now on the way to Florida.

WSU baseball is something else here, their stadium is better than most minor league teams and this town is baseball and basketball crazy.

I simply cannot believe they allow college-aged players to use aluminum bats! Those kids are big and strong. How dangerous must that be for the pitcher?!

The only real college baseball memory I have is that a-hole pitcher from Wichita State throwing at the guy in the on-deck circle AND the Wichita manager agreeing with it. Seriously, talk about messed up priorities.

I have been watching the womens college world series and congrats to ASU for winning it all. Arizona had a great showinf this year between ASU and UofA advancing very far and each team has a number of hometown girls.

I read in the newest SI, that this is the first time in 22 years that neither UCLA nor Arizona have played in the softball championship game. Pretty amazing. And another PAC10 team managed to win it.

Aluminum bats in the NCAA gotta go. "Bong" is not a true sound of baseball.
