therick, I know its hard for you and others to understand that some things cannot be developed in a capitalistic environment. What makes Russian hockey and wrestling so great is that a kid, any kid, can come to a club, ON THEIR OWN, and get free training all year around.
When this kid grows up and someone offers him lots of money to go somewhere else and use these skills, he goes. After a while the whole system suffers because that country is not interested in maintaining top coaches and facilities just to see its players leave.
Money in this instance ruins everything!
That's why Soviets were so great in sports that mattered to them. Nobody could leave! That's why Cubans are so great.
Instead of preserving this greatness, American mobsters secretely try to steal the athletes.
Yes they steal them because the players do not JUST GO TO AMERICA. They do not JUST WANT TO PLAY IN NHL. They do all this only after a FAT CHECK IS CUT FOR THEM.
That's not stealing! If you have a job, where the company trained you and gave you great bonuses, and another company makes you a better offer, are they stealing you? No!
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
Apparently, some of the sponsors are some shady characters.
What do you make of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich owning Chelsea Football Club from the English Premier League?
A Russian capitalist owning one of Europe's most popular sports teams.
That must make you head spin.
Abramovich is a puppet. A name. No more. He is the figure Putin picked to manage that money. Khodorkovskiy tried to break away and he is in jail.
