Thread: Wonderful Kansas Weather

    Default Wonderful Kansas Weather

I actually love this time of year, storms galore. I don't like the tragedy and a lot of folks were offering prayers tonight as we remembered the tragedy of this time last year with Greensburg KS. Even they had 2 new tornado threats tonight, reports and radar showed 2 tornadoes just to the southwest of Greensburg, and heading northeast towards Greensburg, that town has been through too much lately and the tornadoes were popping up from the western part of the state through the central part of Kansas. The reports are minimal damage but we won't really know much until the morning. Any tragedy on top of what they have already experienced is too much. There is never a boring afternoon, evening, or night in the spring. The forecast has us getting it all weekend, which means beautiful days, and sleepless evenings.

This one is from a tornado yesterday

Hope there is some cool weather like that when we are there.

We're going to be at Baker University at Chertow's camp from May 30 thru June third. He has me working in trade for Reni's training, some R&B, and so forth.

We may be there, trying to work it out on this end. You being there makes it worth while to try and work out the final details.

It rained enough today to dirty up the cars and I was in a pissy mood all day because of it. I knew there was a reason I didn't live in Kansas!

    Furches,
    I got a question.

Has the weather forcast become the proverbial "tale wagging the dog" in your local newscasts? Living in this part of "tornado alley" if there is so much as a raindrop, that leads the news here. If there is even a small chance of snow, they predict a minimum of 3 inches. And if God forbid there is a tornado warning for Bugtussle, the entire primetime lineup gets preempted.

I know what you are talking about, one of the problems we have is the local stations out of Wichita serve most of the state, so we have to deal with preempting programs due to NW Kansas weather and all. This year though, the big problem locally has been rain and hail, a lot of hail, even here. The actual number of tornados is actually up though, both here, and nation wide apparently. I know that here, we have already met the "average" number of tornados for the spring season, and we have another plus month to go.
