    FWIW, that chart is dead on, and some companies are spending WAY too much money on marketing research.
    I am 49, bald, ugly, and don't own a single cool thing. Kids like me though.

    After MUCH debate (college-age daughter is home - with a 3.5!) we came to the rather sudden recognition that we call it "soft drink". The label preferences got in the way - "Well, when I go into a restaurant I ask for a Coke". We finally realized that for a generic term, if we walked into an unfamiliar grocery store to pick up a 6 pack, what would we ask for? Answer: "Where is the soft drink isle?"

    Grocery - small ma and pa store in the neighborhood (near extinct now)

    Market - street vendors (also near extinction)

    I grew up in NW PA and we call it pop... still do.
    Champions are made while no one is watching.

    Hearing it called "pop" is like sandpaper to my ears.
    I grew up near Boston and now call it Soda.
    My father still calls it Tonic, which confuses a whole lot of people not from New England.
