Boy was that a good game. Detroit dominated...in everything but the score. Detroit had sooo many scoring chances, I cannot believe Fleury was so good. He may not be 40, but HE'S A MAN! There were several Detroit chances they just missed, but Pittsburgh had them too. Props to the Pens, but I called Detroit in 6, we'll see tomorrow.
You do the math..... I'll do the alfredo!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

Go Wings! Again I'm at work, so I'll have to watch it on my DVR tonight when I get home.

Given both teams' core players and contracts. It's not unthinkable for both of these teams to be right back here in the finals next season. The NHL just needs to wise up and have them play a home and home weekend every regular season. It's a natural.

Another great game! Detroit had all the luck tonight. Zetterberg's shot went through Fleury and lay on the goal line, and Fleury sat down and it went in off his butt. Then Pittsburg just about ties it up at the buzzer AGAIN... Hossa's shot goes off Osgood's stick and through the crease.

That said, Detroit proved throughout the season they were the best team. President's trophy, SC champ, never faced elimination, and despite the crazy finishes outplayed the great Penguins team for long stretches at a time.

Well deserved Conn Smythe trophy for Zetterberg, tied with Crosby for playoff scoring lead, played head-to-head with Crosby in the finals, 4 pts in the last two games, and scored the cup winning goal.

    Very entertaining final series!

Great series. I hope the Pens can keep their team together; they could be the next dynasty!

    Champs Again!

Parade at my place, tomorrow, lunchtime (I'll literally be able to see the parade from right outside my office!).

To all those who picked the Pens, sorry. Nice little team you got there though, they'll be good for a few years.

I was at the game last night.

I have to admit that the Red Wings were the better team on the whole.

I waited around to see the cup, but left when they started passing it around.

I took some pics, but the cup presentation was at the opposite end of where I was sitting.

This comment may seem a little biased, but I think the Pens were good enough to win the cup in most other seasons. In other words, this Red Wing team was better than most Stanley Cup winners.

The Pens played as well as they could have and it wasn't nearly enough to beat the Red Wings.

G&P, must have been fun to be at the game regardless of the outcome. I agree with your comments- this years Wings team was one of the best Stanley cup teams in a while, I think. They were outshot once in the whole playoffs. And they have 4 defencemen that could be #1 in most clubs- Lindstrom, Rafalski, Kromwall, Stuart. Not to mention a ton of offensive talent.
