Pens "D" is definitely the question mark. They've been rock solid so far but they haven't met anyone with the same firepower with the Red Wings, and they had some trouble containing Jagr vs. New York. The Wing's defence, on the other hand, is both talented and experienced.

exactly.........I liken the Pens to the early 80's Oilers. Loaded, but still young and if the organization can keep them together, they're a dynasty waiting to happen. I just think that this year will be the learning year. If they can shore up the 2nd and 3rd lines on D, they'll be unbeatable.

My prediction is looking pretty good right now.

Looks like the pens weren't quite prepared for a team that can actually play defense as well as score. They've been outshot 36-19 in game one and 34-22 tonight. The pens just looked rattled in the 3rd and started taking dumb penalties which made it that much easier for the wings to sit on the lead and run the clock out.

Anyone else watching these games?

So far, Detroit's defensive play is stealing the show. Unbelievable team efforts so far. Hopefully things get more exciting in Pittsburg when the Pens get the last line change.. and hopefully they start playing as a team again.

After watching the first two games, I think the Pens will break out with one offensive explosion in this or the next game--perhaps 4 or 5 goals--and then be soundly defeated in 5 or 6 if they're lucky. I underestimated the Wings; the defense they're playing now is suffocating and dominating.

Agreed. A lot of teams try to play defensive hockey; the difference in this series is the sheer talent of the Detroit Red wings. They only need one chance to score and their defence is so deep that aging superstars like Cheilios and Hasek have to sit on the bench.
