I was late to the party on Wilco, my first album was "Yankee Hotel Foxtrot", but I'm a fan now.

I'm not the biggest fan (I have a couple of their CDs), but I recognize a great band when I hear one.

I listened to all of them and I never liked the other bands. I cant believe you left Pearl Jam off of your list, that is a great band.

Is rap and hip hop music really "songs"?

I think of songs as having singing in them.

Most rap songs and hip hop it seems to me are really more of spoken words set to music or a beat.
