Default Tax rebates planned for June as economic stimulus

Most tax filers will get $600-$1,200.

How do you plan to spend your refund?

I plan to use mine to pay down a credit card (what it's not supposed to be used for, although if I turn around and buy something else on credit then it will be okay).

It can pay for the deck I just bought at Lowes, on my Lowes card I might add. I guess I'm just deficit spending like the govt!

Spider, you ain't getting one. Surely a dentist makes more than $75K, which is the cut off limit.

Aw, c'mon Spider, with that sort of money you could at least spring for an expensive bottle, or a high-class hooker.

I went to the dentist this morning, and now that I remember the list of "things that need to be done" I was given, she may get all of my refund.

I'd like to remind you all that my birthday is in June, and I think you should spend the money to benefit both the economy, and me.

Once again, not true Big the rebate decreases 5% for each $500 of income above $75,000 for single, $150,000 for a couple. $0 = $85,000 for an individual, $0 at $170,000

Ther are gonna be a heck of lot of HDTVs bought come spring.

How Americans in different financial situations would fare under the rebate plan proposed by House leaders and the White House.
? An individual with $2,500 in earned income in 2007: Disqualified because income fell below the $3,000 threshold. No rebate.
? A married couple with no children, with adjusted gross income of $100,000 in 2007: Would qualify for the full $1,200 couples. A $1,200 rebate.
? A worker with one child, who earned $9,000 and owed no taxes in 2007: Would qualify for the $300 rebate available to individuals who pay no taxes but earned at least $3,000, plus an additional $300 for the child. A $600 rebate.
? A couple with income of $145,000 in 2007, with three children: Would qualify for the full $1,200 for couples, plus $300 for each child. A $2,100 rebate.
? A couple with income of $160,000 in 2007 with two children: Would qualify for a partial rebate, reduced by 5 percent for every $1,000 in income above the $150,000 threshold. An $1,800 rebate ? $1,200 for the couple plus $300 per child ? would go down by 50 percent for this family. A $900 rebate.
? A couple with income of $200,000 and four children: Disqualified because their income exceeded $174,000, the phase-out limit. No rebate.

Ryou, $85K is pocket change for Spider. Basically 60 root canals or 2 months worth of work. He ain't getting a rebate.

Ryou, tell me what are the guidelines for a single male with no children and no dog to get the most rebate and how much?
