    Default RIP my beautiful boxer!

I didn't want to say it really but I decided to share my loss. Yesterday my boxer dog died. He was 7 years and 9 months old, relatively young still. He was doing fine but all of a sudden stopped eating and started coughing blood. We took him to the hospital on the 31st where they did a number of tests and said he was losing blood and had an enlarged spleen. They couldn't tell whether there was anything else wrong with him but said they had to remove his spleen. When they opened him up for surgery they found a huge tumor in his stomach that caused all the problems and the doctor advised us that it would be best to put him to sleep right during the surgery since a long term recovery from this was virtually impossible.

I knew he was getting old but really didn't expect him to go this suddenly and this young. He was the best dog I could possibly have and I will never forget him. Just wanted to share my thoughts. Thanks.

Sorry for your loss Big. I too am a dog lover, even though I have not owned one is some time. I am still scarred by the loss of my pit bull.

Big I'm sorry for your loss, I've recently had some problems with my baby...an 80lbs German Shepherd, it was very stressful and for a few days we thought we were going to lose her. I'm so sorry to hear this.

    Sorry for your loss.
We have a 11 year old Lab and a 10 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever.
I can't imagine how tough it is going to be on our family when their time comes. They were our kids before we had kids.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I never treated him like a dog. I treated him like my best friend. I never ever hit him. He would climb in my bed at night and I would wake up in the morning with him laying on top of me like he belonged there. We would play-fight around on the carpet and he would never bite me but would squeeze my arm with his teeth just enough for me to feel he got me good.

When I ate he always asked me to share a little and could eat from a fork. When he slept he always liked to have a little pillow under his head. He used to sing with me and he was good at it, better than me.

He always wanted to lick me and wanted me to cuddle with him. He never ever bit anyone and never barked at anyone when he was outside. Only when he was inside the house. He loved kids and was always good to let them pet him.

No matter what I ever posted on here at home he always smiled at me and was ready to give me a kiss. I didn't even realize how much he meant to me until yesterday.

Sorry to hear about that, Big. Losing a dog can be a really tough thing.
