    Agree. They suck beyond belief. Add "Manny". I'm still reeling from a weekend of listening to sports radio. Outside of the actual games (blessed relief), it was almost always pretty irritating. Manufactured drama. And then in last night's game on ESPN one of the announcers said something about K-Rod changing his nickname, and another said something like, no, we like that one.

    Aikman (putting some T.O. drama from a few years back into perspective while slipping out of corporate mold): "Who cares?"
    Joe Buck (always good corporate man) : "I care! Fox Sports cares!"

    I may be a Cardinals homer (err, I am a Cardinals homer,) but El Hombre (playing off Stan the Man, or course) is pretty good for Pujols. Overall, completely agree though, nicknames now suck in comparison.

    Here is one for boxing (and mma now): Sugar. Ray Robinson was the original, of what is one of the most stolen nicknames ever.
