Awhile ago a power surge in my house blew out a whole bunch of appliances. I wrote to Con Edison. They followed up with a letter saying they are not responsible because it was a garbage truck that knocked out a pole.

What a bunch of azzholes. They better pay up when I go to court. They can later present the bill to the garbage company. What do I care if some truck caused it? I don't want to know anything about it.

America I tell you. Con Edison is the only supplier of electricity. Where is the freedom of choice?

I didn't edit it but our good friend Schlottke probably did. I didn't talk to a lawyer yet. I will when I go to court with this. I mean, how can they say its not their problem if their electricity caused it?

This kind of thing has never happened to me in Russia. In any case, what is the difference between Russia and America with regard to electric companies?

My father tells me this kind of thing could not happen in Russia because all electrical wires were laid as cable underground in big cities. In this instance America is way behind Russia I guess, kind of like the lousy NYC subway.
