Thread: Food for thought (NFL)

    Default Food for thought (NFL)

Rewind to a few years ago, when my Kansas City Chiefs had 2 of the best running backs in the NFL between Priest Holmes (in his prime) and Larry Johnson (before the fat contract). Priest was having an awesome year and went down with an injury and LJ came in and rushed for over 1200 yards in just 8 games.

Now this year, Adrian Peterson is off to a phenomenal start rushing for over 1200 yards in 12 games as a rookie, including one game in which he broke the NFL single game rushing record. Last year Chester Taylor also put up some big numbers without AP there.

What do these guys all have in common? I'll throw some rep points to whoever can answer correctly.

    A good offensive line.

They do both have good offensive lines, but I have more of a direct link.

    Same agent.
Or maybe since you mentioned it, they were the three fastest to 1200 yards in a season.

Didn't see Taylor mentioned before, scratch that last one.

    Some guesses:
Taylor was the backup to Lewis when he broke the single-game rushing record, and also to Peterson when he broke it.

Taylor and Holmes started with the Ravens, then moved to their current teams before the other two came to be stars for the teams.

They have the record for the most rushing yards by teammates in a game/season.

College, NFL, high school, off the field, what? C'mon, throw me a frickin bone here. I'm the boss, need the info.
