Our local paper has had an amazing run of bad homonym use lately. It's an embarrassing display for so-called professionals (I used to work there, and I know the 'so-called' is well deserved).
As much as I love Flowrestling, the typos and grammatical errors drive me up the wall. I'm thinking of offering my free proofreading skills to the site as a public service.

We all make the typo and when writing a story and trying to proof my own stuff, things get by. I don't have a copy editor, which I did have when I was working at a newspaper.
I've even caught typos and grammar issues on fortune cookies.

As far as TV trucks go, sometimes the tech guys don't have the best journalistic backgrounds and do something quickly. I've seen a few errors on the graphics on SportsCenter that make me chuckle, but repeated errors do drive me batty, especially when I have one of those brain farts myself.
