Thread: Barry Bonds

    Default Barry Bonds

What about the 3 MVPs he won when he weighed 185 lbs? He was a shoe-in HOF'er b/f he used the juice. He was a stick figure and dominated the league.

I have no bones to pick with that BB. Had he not juiced and barring injury, he was a shoe in. I'm not so sure today. If he gets linked positively, he may have Pete Rose'd himself out of the HoF, regardless of his stats.

Does everyone remember what Sammy Sosa looked like when he came into the league? He looked like a whippet running around the bases - skinny all over. A few years later, he's hulked-up in the Home Run Derby with sweat launching itself out of his pores. I thought he was going to have stroke just sitting in the dugout

Not sure if any of you have read "Game Of Shadows" but the newest edition has some information from the Giants equipment manager. In the time from when Bonds joined the Giants his jersey size has gone from a 42 to a 52, shoes form 10 1/2 to 13, and hat from 7 1/8 to 7 1/4.

I don't know many people in their 30's that can gain 10" in the chest without being fat. Growth of the extremities is a side effect of overuse of HGH, aping the symptoms of the glandular disorder acromegaly.

Regardless of how good Bonds was before he started taking HGH, his use of HGH and previously undetectable steroids has tainted any records he might set. Personally, I'm still holding out for an injury. Nothing major, maybe a torn hammy or oblique.

The most surprising is that his head has only expanded 1/8. It looks huge.

Baseball has always been littered with cheaters and controversy, this is nothing new.
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

How the hell do you increase your foot size after a certain age? Never heard of such a thing.

As for the skinny v. big Bonds: most of us grow a little (some quite a bit) with age. Why aren't they showing before and after pictures of Roger Clemens? How about Babe Ruth? He had to have been on steroids, right? How else do you explain the enormous weight gain?

First.... your feet DO grow as you get older. I went from a 6 1/2 to 7 1/2 in the past ten years.

Gaining 10' in chest size, over a period of years, is not unheard of if you hadn't worked out prior.

Now, having got all that out of the way.... Bonds has always worked out and THEN got that much bigger.

That much gain in foot size in your 30's is WAY beyond the norm.

And his head size is a dead giveaway of growth hormone.

All this is very obvious to anybody who has spent anytime in the bodybuilding world. What he, and Sosa, and McGuire were doing was hardly a surprise. This is pretty much what killed Flo-Jo as well. She did a LOT of it, with some congenital issues that made it quickly fatal.

There is an observation in the bodybuilding world that todays bodybuilders would blow Arnold off the stage. It's not that the bodybuilders are better.... but the drugs, and knowledge on how best to use them..... is WAY better.
