I am not originally from Kansas in fact, my favorite teams over the years has been Furman, Tennessee, and Tulsa. That said, I am not jumping on any band wagons, but after watching KU a few times this year I am starting to wonder, "Are they for real?" After a few wins, with a somewhat suspect defense, I still think they are. It kind of amazes me at how the OU folks are writing them off, something that you would think OU fans would be careful of after so many losses where they wrote off teams like Kansas State, Boise State, and even one year at a game I was at, Tulsa. I am not putting down OU, I like Stoops and the team, but it still seams as if Kansas is getting no respect.
The game against Missouri will be a challenge, but if they win that game, it would not surprise me at all to see them win the Big 12 Championship game and play for the National Championship. Something a basketball school hasn't done even in basketball in some time.
Just trying to get the thoughts, of course Iowa State is a team to worry about for the next week, but the 500 pound wonder of a coach seems to be doing a great job at keeping his kids focused on one game at a time.
Personally I hope they put a WHOOPING on ou. I work with a bunch of arrogant ou fans who always make excuses when ou gets beat.
Also they are only ou fans for football except if another sport happens to be doing good that year. They never want to talk about Wrestling.
Hey, OU got beat by Colorado. Remind their fans of this if they get a little too full of themselves.
Good trivia: During the game, Brent Musberger, for no evident reason, mentioned the fact that OU, Okla State and Iowa State all have great wrestling programs. Then something happened on the field and it was back to football.
The coach doesn't really weigh 500 pounds does he?
At the game, one guy had a sign that said "Gundy is thinking of a win" and the guy next to him had a sign that said "Mangino is thinking Arby's." I won't say he is 500 but 350 would not surprise me at all.
After watching most of the game yesterday I'd say that KU will beat ISU if they can avoid stupid penalties like Colorado got against ISU. Missouri will be their toughest test yet and I think may be able to take them. They have not played a good team all season. I honestly think there is no way they beat OU unless they COMPLETELY overlook the Jayhawks.
GnP, the stadium is being redone and those seats are not ready yet. ABC had an interview with Boone Pickens, oil mogul for whom the stadium is named. He donated $195 million to OSU and that's what he said about the seats.

KU is for real, but I hope they avoid what all the other teams that were for real have done and lose after people say that. I'm a KState fan, but I am starting to cheer quietly for the Jayhawks, mainly for the fact that they're still overlooked. And I disagree, they have played my Cats who are a pretty dangerous team. They Cowboys are also a dangerous team, and they came out with wins in both of those games. I think if they get past Mizzou they'll beat OU in the BIG XII Championship game, and possibly play for the national title. I just hope they don't get overlooked if they do end up undefeated.

Look at what they did to Texas and Colorado, as well as the dominating game they played early at Auburn which they somehow lost. They're dangerous when they put it together. These last few weeks have been pretty painful though.

I would love to see KU get into the championship game (it would mean there really is hope for Rutgers) and win it all. Most of you probably don't remeber the ays in 70's when OU and UN would put the whuppin on KU and KState year in and year out. Im mean scores of 72-6, big time run ups.
I am staying silent on this topic until November 25.
I will say this, the Big 12 sure is fun to watch this year. Yesterday, I saw my Tigers beat the Aggies 40-26, and then I watched KU-Okie St., another track meet. I like seeing all this offense, especially considering that today I'm watching the Bears-Raiders, and the score in the 4th quarter with 4:00 left is 6-3.
