Tampa Bay baseball team shortens name to Rays. I heard one their minor league squads is considering changing their names to the Heys, or the Yeahs, but no one has yet suggested the Nays.

They keep trying, but everyone just thinks they are voting "ney" on a name change.

Just means the fans now have to go out buy new paraphernalia which means a bump in licensing income.
You'll notice the "blue" NY Giants are now in red. That what you call a marketing ploy to restore declining licensing revenue since everyone wants the new colors.
