13 miles, 19 minutes in, 11 miles 16 minutes home now. When I was in THE City, it was between 1:50 and 2:20 depending on the weather. 2 trains, a subway and 20 minute walk. It could chop 15 minutes off by taking another subway and did in bad weather and winter, otherwise I'd hoof it for the exercise and save the additional1.50 each way. Total Cost $1.00 to park the car at the train station, 2 trains were 13.50 Round trip, subway in and out another $3.00 - 17.50 per day and I have even eaten yet. Add to that the NYC commuter tax which is levied on NJ working in NYC---10% of your gross and the 5% New York State Income tax.
currently working from home but driving about 15 miles each way three times a week for physical therapy ;)
I've worked out of my house for the last 4+ years, and recently accepted a new job that requires me to drive ~30 miles to the office at least 3 days a week. Commuting sucks balls....
I travel about 13. 1 mile to the interstate and then 11 to the exit and a mile exactly to work.
I am 20 miles door to door.
