    Default Branding News

This is stuff I've been talking about for a long time. News as a product instead of just news. I love the cereal box image. And so when angry white guy Bill OReilly tells me how I should be dissatisfied, and who I should blame, I can relate. He looks and talks like someone I can trust.

Joanne Ostrow: "Advocacy journalism has been around for decades, but it's newly fashionable as part of the branding phenomenon. To purists, "advocacy journalism" remains an oxymoron. Unlike traditional journalism's goal of objectivity, advocacy journalism knowingly pushes a viewpoint. The danger is that it may stack the argument or exclude contrary research."
