Cutler has never had a great team around him. In college he played at Vanderbilt, really you expected one talented guy to carry a team in the SEC. In Denver he had no defense. He cant do it all.
If i saw any signs of a winner or a leader i would agree with you. All I see is a whiny brat with a big arm who has never done anything to make his situation better. I suspect similar excuses will be made for him throughout his career.

He had the third ranked offense in the league with a team that went thru like 6 starting running backs.

Anyway, Chicagoe has a proven commodity. He's proven he can play at a high level in the NFL. Denver got two first round draft picks, which COULD turn out well, or COULD turn out as busts. And Cutler has proven he can make his situation better. In college, he made a terrible Vanderbilt team respectable in the SEC, and won some big games for them there. In the fricking SEC. Now Vanderbilt has been able to recruit since Cutler because of the respectability he has garnered for them, their coach even says as much in interviews.
Jacob Schlottke---Gone too soon, and the world is a little less bright because of it. RIP, brother.

One, two, Evans is coming for you...

Yes I know his stats. I also watched his games and watched him force throws and make a lot of bad decisions. 14th in comp percentage, 16th in qb rating, second most interceptions (shockingly favre had the most).

He has proven that he can help your fantasy team out in a big way. He has not proven that he can lead a team at all. At this point Orton has taken his team further than Cutler with less weapons.

It will be interesting to see him go from Marshall and Royal to Hester and Joe blow.

i am so old I remember when Walter Payton-argueably the greatest running back in history -was renogotiating his salary -and he pretty much had to take what they offered him because his trade value was one first rounder -2 1sts and a third for a still unproven QB is aot . Not as stupid as Ditka givng up 900 draft picks for ricky Williams -but close .
What did New England get for Cassell ???

I noticed this long before the recent controversy, from watching the games: Cutler tends to pout when things are going bad. Maybe he just needs a different environment. Lovie Smith seems like a mature coach (and not just by age) and maybe it will a good match for him.

    The onion on Cutler.

Speaking of the Onion, I was howling last night when at the top of the sports page in their print edition it said something like "T.O. honks as he drives by Bills volunteer work-out camp"

I'm glad "the player" is gone, too much of a baby.
    Make room for Mr. Sanchez.

I dont think the Bears locker room will put up with Cutler being a whiner. I am sure they will put him in his place and he will mature.
