Hmmm. I was under the impression that she had to come to Iowa to make her a champion. No good coaches in VA...for any sport.

Rat Martin disagrees. 757 pumps out more world class athletes than Iowa I can be sure of that.

Ryan Whiting the American shotputter is a kid I've known since he was about 15. He is from Harrisburg PA and went to Central Dauphin. He was an absolute freak of nature when I met him. He could be playing professional football probably. Just loves to throw.

Epic tennis matchup, Federer beats Del Potro after 19 games in the 3rd set. Plays Murray in the final. I'll be cheering for Federer but he'd better pick it up, he's had a pretty sweet draw and still played close.

Federer is by far my favorite player right now but I wouldn't be too upset to see Murray win. That dude is just too good to not have a major title. I kind of feel sorry for him.

Tomorrow my Olympics officially begins. I love the other sports and learning/watching ones I've never been exposed to but its time to bust out the mats and I am juiced!

Ilya Ilin just put up an unreal performance in weightlifting at 94 kilos. Went 185/233 to break both the World and Olympic records in the Clean and Jerk and the Total. The Clean and Jerk World Record (he already had the Olympic one) had stood for twelve years.

With Akkaev and Klokov (the two Russian big guns) pulling out with injuries at 105 I was glad I got to see Ilin.
