    I agree. His domination of the 80s was more complete than any other athlete for any comparable amount of time. He won the MVP his first 8 years in the league, for god's sakes.

    Gretzky was unreal. Absolutely unreal. He dominated without a whole lot of size, speed, or strength- he was just that smart and that slick. He's still a god in Edmonton.

    All of the Hall of Famers surrounding him for all those years didn't hurt much.

    No of course not. The Oilers of the 80's were the highest scoring team of all time. Wayne's not the only superstar who played with great team mates though... Mario and Jagr, Howe and Lindsay, Bossy and Trottier, Yzerman with Federov and Shannahan, and so on... down to Crosby and Malkin in the present day.
