What is the difference between the Irish and the Scots? The Irish pray on there knees, the Scots prey on each other. What do you get when you cross LSD with Lutefisk? A bad trip in Story City Iowa. p.s. I am 1/2 Irish 1/4 scottish and 1/4 Norwiegian.

I once lived in Seattle. The Scandinavian District there is called Ballard. Every year for the 17th of May parade (Norwegian Constitution Day) all Scandinavians line up on each side of Market Street for the parade. As a yearly ritual, the Swedes line up on the East side, the Norwegians on the West. Then, the Swedes throw firecrackers at the Norwegians. Then, the Norwegians light the firecrackers and throw them back.

Sven was walking home carrying a live chicken, an empty 5-gallon pail, and a large ham. He came to a gate, and with his hands full he was unable to work the latch. Olga was standing nearby, so Sven asked her to open the gate for him.
Olga refused, saying "I'am afraid to open the gate for you, because you might make love to me."
Sven said "That's crazy! How can I make love to you while holding a chicken, a pail, and a ham?"
Olga replied, "You could set the chicken down, put the pail over it, and set the ham on top."

How can you tell which Swede is extroverted? When you talk to him, he's the one looking at your shoes instead of his own.

What is the difference between a Norwiegian and a canoe. Sometimes a canoe tips.

A woman of Dutch heritage once told me that the Dutch invented copper wire--from two guys fighting over a penny.

One can hear a steady diet of Scandinavian jokes (or jokes period) from listening to Garrison Keillor's radio program.

that's it, that's all the irish, scotish, scandanavian jokes there are in the world. that must explain their general lack of a sense of humor.

518, the sense of humor tends to be more subtle than that so you may have missed it. Scandinavians, unlike television or Hollywood producers, can tell a joke without hitting someone over the head.

Ole and Inga were making their new home in America. On their way to North Dakota, they had to stop at Immigration to complete their paperwork. The Immigration officer was asking for personal details for identification. On learning that Inga was 6'2" tall and weighed 225, he blurted out, "My God, Inga, you should be playing for the Green Bay Packers.
Inga replied, "No, I don't play vith nobody's packer but Ole's!"
