The profit they bring in is through taxation and some fundraising, but no teacher is brinnging in more tax dollars because they are an excellent teacher, and here in CO for the most part teachers at private schools make less in a benefits package than their public school counter part.
Tuition and grants brings in FAR more than any taxes could ever dream of bringing in. Good teachers bring in students, which brings in tuition and grant money.
As for public versus private pay and benefits, a definite NO in regard to pay. Private institution professors make far more than public institution professors do. Benefits are paid within each institution, so some of the private colleges will have far more handsome benefit packages than the public institutions will.

Not sure and I don't want to speak for Ugly, but I thought that was his whole point. Public school teachers are paid by tax dollars just like police and firemen and none bring in profit. Anyway, that's just the way I read his comments. I will stay out and let him speak for his self.
This is what I was reffering to.
Sorry ban I thought we were on the same page.
Speaking of colleges I do dislike the fact that a football coach makes more than a proffessor, when we know that football really doesnt make the school money and actually cost money. Real Sports had a great special on college football and BCS.
