Default E.R. TV show negatively portrays wrestling

Did anyone catch it?

It aired last Thursday, I just watched it last night.

Anyway, a high school kid shows up in the ER with some mysterious life threatening condition.

They can't figure it out until one of the docs notices calluses of the boys fingers that developed from him sticking his fingers down this throat to induce vomiting.

Yes...he was a bulimic high school wrestler just trying to make weight for the big match.

Appropriate?

I just finished watching it now. It's frustrating to see stuff like this, but sadly, it's the image that most people who don't know wrestling have of the sport.

Yeah, every time someone finds out I was a wrestler, they say "were you anorexic" and I explain to them how cutting weight actually isn't bad if you are not an idiot and do it correctly, despite my temptation to just say "you are a f'ing ignorant retard"

Last Thursday night must have been wrestling night on NBC.

Earlier that evening, on "30 Rock", the sport was presented in a much lighter light. No issues of making weight here...

They do touch on it once in a while, usually negatively. In your work place, when does one of your colleagues attack someone who isn't around?

Can you really get calluses from shoving your fingers down your throat?
I would think you would need someting rougher than your throat to get a callus

The first season of Grey's Anatomy featured wrestling (one of the doctors and patients who found common ground from being wrestlers). Although the patient was crazy...
