I think we need to reserve judgement in this case until we know what brands of beer are involved:

3 Stabbed In Fight Over Beer, Manatee Deputies Say
    Sarasota Herald-Tribune

Authorities say a man who became angry over the brand of beer available stabbed three people in a mobile home last night.

Amilcar H. Guerra, 50, was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery after the 11 p.m. stabbings that occurred in a mobile home at Six L's Farm, 12599 State Road 39 near Duette, according to a Manatee County sheriff's report.

A witness told deputies four men were in a trailer drinking beer when Guerra became angry about the kind of beer the other men purchased. Authorities say Guerra began to throw punches and then pulled a knife from his pocket and stabbed the men.

Gaspar Corona-Jiminez, 38, was stabbed in the chest, lower back and hands. Nery Velasquez, 24, suffered knife wounds to his arm, and Andres Filemon, 22, was cut on his chest and hand, the sheriff's report said.

Corona-Jiminez was flown by helicopter to Tampa General Hospital, and the two other men were taken to Manatee Memorial Hospital. None had life-threatening injuries.

Deputies located Guerra about 500 yards from the trailer. Guerra was passed out and had blood on his shirt, the report said.

I'd venture a guess that budweiser might be a little too high end for these guys...

You're probably right. I can see him walking up to the trailer singing doo da, doodoo dada, doo da, doodoo dada, doo da, doodoo dada, MY CORONA!--cause he had contributed to the beer fund with certain expections, and then finding out they had bought something else.

Well, I hate to say it, but I can kind of relate.

About two weeks ago-after having about four prior to going into the place-I asked at Applebee's what "specialty" beers that they had. None! Zero! Not even basic old Sam Adams. It isn't that I'm a beer snob, but I genuinely don't like most commercial domestic beers (other than a regular Michelob lager; good beer). The waiter seemed a bit amused that I didn't want anything else, and I felt the collar getting really hot.

So, before I decided to bring out the shank, I cooled off and ordered pop, which was the best choice for me anyway!

(This story is true, but the desire to shank is not)!

First thought when reading this was, only in the trailer park. Second thought, how bad of beer do you have to bring to have trailer park denizen stabbing you over it? I mean, seriously, I am at a loss here.

Ban, from that story, you do sound like a beer snob. But coming from a fellow snob for good beer, I don't see that as a bad thing.

I'll drink to that, and have a Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA in hand to do so.
