Default The Woes of Michigan Continue

Freshman QB Steven Threet who started 8 games for the Wolverines asked for and received his release from the program. He'll have to sit a year at another Div 1. This the 2nd change of mind for Threet who had signed with and enrolled at Georgia Tech for 2 weeks before backing out and heading to Ann Arbor.

He joins Freshman Sam Mcguffie, starting tailback as an ex-Wolverine.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

What the heck is going on in that program? I don't remember hearing anything like this when he was at WVU.

As a Buckeye fan who realizes that the bigten needs Michigan to be a top tier team, this is a bummer.

From what I hear from people close to the program, there are LOTS of personality conflicts between the coaching staff and the players. They have not been able to mesh well since the changeover.

That's pretty much it Stardust. Rod does a lot of things that run against tradition in a tradition-rich program, and if there's anything UM football people respect, its the tradition. It short, he's not a "Michigan" man. Other than another recruit leaving, the Threatt thing isn't a real big deal in the football sense. There was a good chance he'd lose his job to incoming frosh Tate Forcier anyway. I don't see Threatt starting elsewhere.

I do remember a lot of talk about the tradition thing. Especially when he gave the number "1" to a non-wide receiver. At some point I'd think that the booster and alumni backlash would be enough for the AD to have a serious talk with him about these sorts of things.
