Thread: Roberto Alomar...

    Default Roberto Alomar...

...has AIDS...and that isn't the strange part of the story. The part about being raped by two Mexican men doesn't even really seem to fit in with the lawsuit. It you wonder what in the hell I'm talking about:

Did he also have the AIDS when he spit in that umpire's face?

The purported rape was probably included to bolster the plaintiff's claim that Alomar knew, or should have known, that he might have AIDs.

What's up matclone? long time, no see. About the rape, it supposedly happened when he was 17, which would mean he was asymptomatic for a very long time before showing signs of the disease.

    Cardinals in '09.

Yeah, long time w/o symptoms and of course, there's no proof that the rape (if it occurred) resulted in AIDs. He could have just as well resulted from a lot of philandering. No, it's not a great argument by plaintiff, but they're just throwing anything in there they can to show that he should tested for AIDs before dipping in the honeypot. I didn't read through the whole thing but I wonder how she's claiming she was damaged if she is not HIV positive (damage being a required element for torts).

Its a crazy story, for sure. The strange thing is, it sounds to me like she knew the doctors were telling him he needed to be tested, and she still consented to sex with him. If that is the case, she has no leg to stand on, IMO. If she didn't know that, then I hope she takes him to the cleaners. Who knows what is actually true though? He claims to not be sick at all, now.
How do you like the Cards chances next year? I was pleasantly surprised with how they performed last year, esp the starting pitching. Honestly, the Cubs look very good (God, I hate to say that!) and we haven't done much in the off season. Could be a long year. Pujols manages to keep us afloat on his own at least...

He's probably making up the rape story because he knew he had AIDS and needs a story to cover how he really probably caught it; he pulled a train with a couple of mexican guys willingly.

The factual stuff will be played out.

My opinion of Alomar has been really really low since the umpire spitting. The latest lawsuit, if it has any merit at all, in conjunction with the spitting incident (for which he showed now remorse) suggests a narcisstic personality.

I agree with your assessment of the Cards. They really played above expectations last year, and if not for the Cubs (who also against expections actually played well), who knows how far they would have gone. This year, it looks like Carpenter may well be back, but otherwise, they've lost all their 2nd basemen and their closer and haven't replaced them with anyone. I don't expect Ludwick to have the same year as last but I hope he shows me wrong. Pujols wants Manny on the team. I can't stand the guy (MR that is). And it's not like the Cards are willing to fork out for every Tom, Dick, and Manny out there.

I read somewhere that he was known to be bisexual.
