Were the students chanting for Sandusky? NO.

It only seems sickening b/c people have already convicted everyone in their minds.

THe Grand Jury testimony has 4 different things happening. Somewhere, as I posted before, in the middle of that is the truth.

Paterno I feel is still in there fighting b/c he thinks he is wrong NOT b/c he is trying to hid something. How are people going to feel if it comes out that the reported story is not accurate & vindicates him?

He wanted to talk today but the BOT canceled it.

No body wins in this. If those kids were abused they are probably emotionally messed up from it. That's a lot of work fixing that.

It doesn't help having a LYNCH MOB mentality going off of stuff based upon incomplete data. I do not like this as much as the next person but the pendulum can swing to far to the other side & people become vigilantes.

Are we allowed to use the F-word now? Cause that's something I need to incorporate into my daily postings if so.

Paterno has decided to step down at the end of the season, and he says that he regrets that he didn't do more. I'll bet the parents and kids regret it more than JoePa. He should have stepped down immediately. Anyone in the stands chanting his name is a creep and willfully ignorant of how much his inaction has harmed lives.

Personal attacks and language like that are not tolerated here. You can make your point without either.

I can't believe these cowards hid behind the "chain of command" excuse. Who goes to an HR rep when they witness a rape? Actually, how do you not intervene and beat the living crap out of that guy when you see it going on?

How many kids were made victims in the time between these "leaders" being made aware of the acts and now?

KR makes a good point that the jury is literally still out on this and it is premature to start assigning guilt or degrees or guilt. But if the chips finally land where they appear to be headed, VA, Snackem, Wiltz and the others are right: any subsequent abuses after the initial discovery are on the heads of those who failed to see the situation through to the end, and just reported it up the ladder and walked away. I hate to see a guy like JoPa go out like this, but he's no better than any of the abused kids and deserves no more consideration than he gave them.

I've deleted the F-words, if anyone has a problem with that please speak to JensenS. I do agree with KR that not everyone in the Penn State area is guilty by association.

One of the worst things about child sexual abuse? Those who are abused often become perpetrators themselves. What an awful, awful thing.

What you don't understand is Flop is that those kids are chanting b/c despite what the rest of the world thinks, the guy has done TONS more good then this one incident can diminish. So far the media thinks that they can stand there & negate his entire life of work due to this. The world is not so black & white. JoePA is not just a FB coach. The kids at the school know that he has done more for them & the school & more good then most of here posting have done combined.

Today in his statement he owned up to a mistake. I already know that almost no one here ever owes up to any!
