It's not only easy to understand, but it's easy to follow what's going on and the game is played continuously instead of stopping every 10 seconds like in American football.

The other thing i've heard from soccer fans is that the low scoreing actually makes it more exciting because every single play has the potential to change the entire balance of the game.

All it gives is the number of participants each international governing body claims for its sport (and each claim that they are the 2nd most popular sport in the world) and then it mostly says that you can't trust any these numbers.

That is the reason I like it and watch it. Then again, I've played and watched it for 30 years, so as with wrestling, I can pick up on the nuances of a team's offensive and defensive strategy. The kind of stuff that the untrained eye, will never see and the novice fan will never appreciate. The exact same can be said for hockey and lacrosse, two of my other favorite spectator sports. You have to watch the entire game because you never know when the deciding goal is going to be scored. It could be 30 seconds into the game, or 30 seconds from the end, but it's all of the near misses that make the game exciting.

American Football is 5 seconds of action, followed by 30 seconds of standing around, and repeat. I know that's simplistic, but can you see how a non-fan could describe it as such.

If all you ever saw of wrestling was Varner and Morningstar's matches against top 10 competition, would you think wrestling was exciting?

Honestly, most people I know think wrestling is boring. And I can see their point. If you don't understand the strategy, and respect the technique, atheleticism and training that goes into it, it would be boring. And some matches are just boring in the first place. I think its really the same for most sports.

Hey, don't bring Varner into it (this year), he majored the #2 kid in the nation.

I hate watching soccer, but I love hockey. No flopping in hockey.

The flopping in soccer is enough to make me ill. It happens in hockey, just far, far less, and thankfully the NHL calls a flop when they see it.

Unless it's Crosby doing the flopping, then NHL officials just call something on the guy who was closest to him when he flopped and started whining.

Seriously? There is no doubt Crosby is whining but in the games I watched (last year's playoffs) he didn't dive much... quite the opposite, in fact, he was rock solid on his skates and really hard to move. I'm not saying he never takes a dive, but I haven't seen it.

You can permanently ice that puck.
