guys on the East Coast need to sound off ! Let us know if you are ok .

No snow here near Virginia Beach. Spider, heard you guys got a bunch up there. Hope you are okay. Everyone else hope you are not without power.

Thanks for asking. My new home by the shore got about an inch of snow, which is now melted away, and we didn't lose power. My old house inland, which hasn't sold yet, got significant snow. I'll be going up there tomorrow to see if it has power, tree damage, frozen pipes, or whatever.

Does the early snow mess up the sap in the maple trees or is that unaffected by weather? And I seriously ask this as a guy who knows nothing about the process, yet still jealous that I can't do it.

3:30 PM and it's 78 with bright blue skies. I can't tell you how much I miss the east coast.
I also am interested in what this kind of weather does to your maple harvest (and share the jealousy!)
