Nearly impossible if your weight is over the front of your skis. If you have a pair of old sliding pads from basball, wear them until your hips get accustomed to the pounding.
LOL - I do the "nearly impossible" along with my kids every time I ski.

It's hard to do on a steep, thin trail with moguls, but those tend to be diamond trails and I doubt he tries any of them as a beginner.

Last time I was in Tahoe I went to a party in Heavenly Valley. Either way Tahoe is gorgeous so enjoy it.

take a lesson... the ski resort is called heavenly so if it goes bad your almost there. it's an awesome experience up there. the view of the lake skiing down the hill will cause you to fall the most. my advice is to drink heavily at a mid-way lodge and go down one lift level and back up to the lodge for another beer, repeat. that's what i do up there. i can't recall the name of the lodge or run, but it is a short easy clip down to a lift and then back up. study the layout when you get there and you'll see what i mean. its on the nevada side, i think?
but then again, i may be retarded

Nice interactive map on this site. Northstar is up on the north end of the lake with Squaw Valley . Night life mostly on the south end with casinos and bars

I would call each the night before, if the weather is bad, you won't be able to see, you will be freezing, . . . Mt Rose was supposed to have the best view of the lake, but we couldn't see it on the day we went.

Squaw, Heavenly, and Northstar are all in the top 25 places to ski in North America

You always need to check the weather. We were in a ground level hotel room on a Friday night. Ready to ski on Saturday. We wake up and open the door and all you could see was snow. 5 feet fell over night! My car was covered except for the entenna sticking out. Made our way to the nearest casino and parked it. They will also close the roads going north or south if it gets snowing too hard. I've also been there when you have a 60 deg day and people are skiing in shorts. It's all a crap shoot.
