    Default Microsoft Outlook :-(

I use Microsoft Outlook Express for my email. It's there not because I preferred it, that's the package that was there when it was set up. It's simple to use and grumpy old men like simplicity and don't like change.

Anyway, every so often, I presume when Microsoft does some automatic update, it switches me to the full Outlook package. I don't want nor need all the frills of Outlook. I just want to be able to receive, open, save and send mail. This morning I go to check the mail, boom Outlook opens up, I close it, go back and change it back to Express, then re-open in Express.

I had noticed there were three new messages in Outlook before I closed it. When I reopen the mail in Express - no messages.

    SOB

Is there anyway I can block Microsoft from switching me over to Outlook from Express? Is it a separate program I can delete ?

I can't help you with the Outlook download problem, but the lost emails are probably still in your server. You should be able to retreive them by going to your internet provider website.

For what it's worth, I always use OE and I've never had this problem. There's probably a setting somewhere in it that will disable the updates.

Yahoo is for Yahoos. I refuse to use Yahoo and anything AOL related (except for Fantasy Football because I have no other choice).

The email will be in your Outlook (Full Version) - they download once from the mail server and are generally deleted (unless, like spider said, you have a web client that can access them- most Cable/DSL companies do not store mail this way).

Check your options on Outlook Express- there is an option to prevent future updates.

That I know form fact. Once it moves to Outlook, FiOS trashes it.
