    Default Vaisforearthquakes!!!

We had one in the middle of my class this afternoon! As if it's not bizarre enough teaching at a mental hospital!

I heard about that on the radio and was wondering about you and Whippet. Hope all is well.

We felt it up here in DE too.

We just have inservice this week, four or five of us were sitting around and the room started to shake. We all looked at each other like "you feel that, right?" and then all came to the same "earthquake, cool..." realization at the same time.

Whippet and family are okay. We did not even feel it. We were in the van headed to the grocery store.

Bad thing is we may get hit by Hurricane Irene by weeks end. She may be packing 100+ mph winds when she hits too!!

Mineral isn't too far from where I live, but surprisingly it wasn't too violent. No damage done to anything in my county.

Things are starting to get a little active here near San Francisco. We had a 3.6 at around 11:00 last night, and then we had another 3.6 this morning at 10:00. Nothing major, but I'm wondering if it's a sign of things to come.

When I first read this posting my response was to say something flippant about welcome to California - until I heard about the injuries and damage. Nothing flippant about people getting hurt or losing their property. I am glad to hear that our community here on TWT are all O.K.
Flop - things have been a bit active in CA, 375 earthquakes this past week.

Apparently it was felt in Cleveland also. I was motoring into downtown, didn't feel anything, but saw crowds of people out on the sidewalks everywhere. Now there was a lot of activity anyway (Indians game in progress, public square had a food festival, and half of E9th, the major north-south DT artery, was closed for movie filming). But that didn't explain the scattered clumps of folks outside of buildings that I was seeing all over the place. I flipped on the radio and talk was of an earthquake in Virginia! Sure enough that was THE topic on the streets.
