Despite the ominous announcement by Joe (the drama queen) Buck, that one of baseball's most fearsome trio of hitters (Ortiz, Ramirez, and Lowell) was coming to bat (and presumably the game would end), nothing happened. Ha ha ha. Then the Indian regulars went hit, hit, hit, and it was over.

It would be great to see the Rockies and Indians in a Series. I note, however, that the press is wringing its hands over this prospect. A Rocky Mtn News columnist said that a friend out east hardly knew any of the names of the Rockies or Diamondbacks. And a yahoo.com story mentioned the Colo-Ariz LCS was one of the lowest watched ever. Which sort of begs the question: why don't we just pick the most popular teams, with the biggest names, and the largest fan base to be in the playoffs (e.g., Red Sox v. Mets, or Yankees v. Cubs). We'll let ESPN choose. Who needs to settle the score on the diamond?

I too would love to see an Indians v. Rockies series. Of course the networks would have to trash all of the pre-prepared montages of the Red Sux. Heck, read an article about last night's game and you'll notice how Cleveland didn't win that game, but Boston lost it.

It doesn't surprise me that that NLCS has low viewership. When 48k people in Phoenix aren't even interested in going to the game, why should I care?

The more things change, the more.............

Once again great pitching stops great hitting.

2 down, 2 to go. The Indian pitchers must keep it up.

I hear most of the Denver area are so excited about the Rockies that they don't even care that much that the Broncos suck.

I dont' know if I'd go that far. But, yes, people in Denver are excited, and should be.

I would have given the LCS MVP award to the Rockies bullpen, hands down. But I guess you can't give it to more than one player.

Kudos to TBS for giving us a good broadcast team on TV: Chip Caray, Bob Brenly, and Tony Gwynn. Intelligent comments. Enthusiam without exaggeration. Also, for the after broadcast team, Cal Ripken is really a natural on camera, and well-spoken. Frank Thomas has a future in that kind of work too I think.

I think it's really weird that the Rockies will have to wait 8 days to play again. And if the Indians win the next two games, both teams will be waiting days as the nights get colder and colder. When I was a kid, they played world series games in the afternoon. Now, I guess it's all about TV and maximizing someone's revenue.

I'll tell you one thing, the Broncos are very, very lucky the Rockies are doing what they are, otherwise the local media would be killing them!

Tony Gwynn sounds like he is trapped in a room full of helium.
