Default Something Old Something New MLB HoF

NEW YORK - Rickey Henderson sped his way into the Hall of Fame on the first ballot Monday, and Jim Rice made it in on his 15th and final try.

The question becomes. would Rice be there if not for the short Green Monster in Fenway.
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

Rice would not be there if it was not for the steroid era. All stats of the last 15 years have been discounted. I would like to see stats of his HR and bastting percentage at Fenway v. on the road. Their is a belief among Red Sox fans and Boston sportswriters that the Green Monster takes away as much as it gives. Pop flies turn into HR's while HR's can be turned into singles.

Even though I was a big Red Sox fan during his career, I don't think he really deserves HOF membership.

I just can't wait for Ricky to give Ricky's induction speech. Ricky thinks very highly of Ricky.

Very true, but the man is by far the best lead-off hitter in history, so I guess I can tolerate it more from him than some other posers who haven't done anything to justify their massive ego.
