does everyone's IQ drop as they age ?
Personally speaking , my IQ has dropped a few points every year-all time new low today of 122,124 and 128-I always take 3 of these to account for abnormalities.
At this rate I'll be eating dogfood by choice as I digress to an anthropologic nightmare beyond recognition .
I study EVERY day-Boring history as well as exciting history-Hell-I even do algebra problems to stay sharp but am Devolving !!
Anyone else having this problem ?

IQ isn't a measure of information, it's a measure of your ability to learn and reason. It's not like a history test. I'm sure you know this, since you take the tests so often, but for that reason the amount you read about history doesn't matter that much.

Payton, I have never taken an IQ test, but I am sure you aren't getting dumber. The world is just changing the rules. When I was young, we had to memorize every single phone number we wanted to call. Now, you just hit a button on a cell phone and it dials it for you. Who's smarter?
We used to have to know that if someone give you $10 for an item that costs $9.16 that you would have to give them 84 cents back. Now a cash register adds (or subtracts) for you. Who's smarter? There used to be a cents sign on a typewriter it looked like a "c" with a line through it. I'm sure you remember that, Payton. Now it isn't there. Your not getting dumber, they just keep changing the rules.
We used to settle manly differences with a good old fashioned fist fight. Now, they shoot each other. Who's smarter? We used to change our own oil, now you go to Jiffy Lube. Who's smarter? We learned the Pledge of Allegiance and recited it every day. Now kids don't even know what that is. Who's smarter?
I could go on. But I'm sure you know what I mean. IQ tests are as dumb as the standardized tests our kids have to take. They don't mean a thing.

How old are you Quinn that you remember buying things before a cash register?
I do remember about 30 yeas ago scanning became ubiquitous at grocery stores, before that cashiers had to ring in every item individually. I also remember that cashiers were always female and the bagger were always male.

I am only 39 and they did have cash registers, but they didn't spit out the change for you like at Speedway. Those old registers like you are referring to just added up the total, I don't think they told the cashier what the change was. Some probably did but I distinctly remember my dad having to help some of the "slower" cashiers with how much change he was due.
And come to think of it, all the cashiers were female and baggers male. I got a job at my uncle's grocery store when I was in high school and we still had to take the groceries to the car and load it for the customers. That may be why baggers were male.
