Wayne Rooney is a beast but Messi is by far the most exciting and electrifying player in soccer right now. The way he splits/terrorizes defenses is legendary.

I don't mean to turn this into my own personal cause, but how in the world is lacrosse a much higher speed sport than hockey? I don't necessarily dislike lacrosse, but it's essentially a slower version of hockey.

Agree with Flop, going to a college lacrosse game isn't nearly as exciting as an NHL game. And does anyone really care about MLL or NLL?

I didn't make the argument that Rooney was better than Messi (and it would be foolish to try), simply that Rooney is my favorite player.

Following him is the reason why I started following soccer.
