Default Most inspiring moments in sports movies

Watching a Rocky marathon on AMC. So I thought I would ask the question. What are the most inspiring moments in sports movies? Here's mine in decsending order:

    1. Adriene showing up in Russia in Rocky IV
    2. Robert Redford breaking his bat and then grabbing Wonderboy for the winning homerun
    3. Louden Swain's chick saying "Hey Louden, kick his ass!"
    4. The scene in Tin Cup when Kevin Costner was in the lead and screwed up that ONE F-king hole. But he didn't ask for a drop, he just kept trying to hit his shot. (Weird, I know, but it's the "never give up spirit" that got me)

The Best, in my opinion is:

    5. Rocky II. Just after his son was born. Adriene says she wants to tell him something. She tells him to lean down. He does. She says "win".

Carl Spackler (Bill Murray) in "Caddyshack" teeing off in the flower bed with a garden hoe, doing commentary for his own private Augusta championship (or any clip from the rest of that movie).
Lou Gehrig (Gary Cooper) the "luckiest man on the face of the earth" farewell speech in "Pride of the Yankees".
Jimmy Dugan (Tom Hanks) "There's no cryin' in baseball" from "A League of Their Own"
Life's not the breaths you take, the breathing in and out that gets you through the day ain't what it's all about. It's the moments that take your breath away.

I forgot about Rudy! I'd say the best moment in that would either be when he walks back onto the practice field after almost skipping a practice or when the players all layed their jerseys on the coaches desk and said that Rudy could play for them.

Great way to start my day. Thanks, Whippet.

By the way, the ending to the book was very different. In the book, Louden does his warm-up, runs out onto the mat to wrestle, and that's the end. The match isn't in the book because, in my opinion, the author is saying that it's the quest that is important, not the result.

In Hoosiers when the last timeout is called and the coach is setting up a play for the last shot and Jimmy Chitwood tells the coach "you get the ball to me I'll make the shot"

That's right, I start crying. Because another human being, a species that I happen to belong to, could kick a ball, and lift himself, and the rest of us sad-assed human beings, up to a better place to be, if only for a minute... let me tell ya, kid - it was pretty goddamned glorious. It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.
