Thread: Pennington vs. Favre

  1. #1

    Default Pennington vs. Favre

Looks like the Jets made the wrong move on this one. Jets made the playoffs the previous two seasons and choked badly this year.

Meanwhile the Dolphins were horrible last year but were revitalized with a real qb under the wings.

Looks like the Jets sacrificed their future by going for the old great gunslinger but it failed. The Dolphins picked up the younger qb and now have reaped the benefits.

Agreed. I think the Dolphins are going to really benefit over the next few years.

Who would have guessed that the Dolphins, who finished 15 games out of first place in their conference last year would turn it around, win the same conference that Brady, Moss, and the undefeated Patriots won last year.

I don't think even Parcells would have said that NE would fall enough for the 1-15 Dolphins to catch up. Amazing football mind, but he isn't crazy.

Just heard he wants out of Miami. Team President maybe ?

Think the Jets will want him to FIX the problem since there doesn't seem to be any confidence in the GMA nor the headcoach after the Farve for Pennington fiasco.

Parcells has twice as many super bowl wins as those two combined do, so he must be higher on some lists. But with that said, Favre really stunk it up this year and yes, Pennington was the much better choice. I wouldn't mind seeing Favre backing up Rogers next season and then hanging it up for good. Good post PJ.

The Jets were 4-12 last year. If they made the playoffs, (they didn't, I'm being sarcastic) it would be an incredible feat.

With that said, Pennington clearly had a superior season, by any measure. The new coaching staff/management, the new QB, the "Wildcat" phenomenon, all contributed to the revitalization of that franchise. Pennington was the perfect QB for what the Dolphins needed this year. I doubt the Jets would have been much better then last year with him there.
