2007 World's Strongest Man
Heat 1: Phil Pfister (USA), Tarmo Mitt (EST)
Heat 2: Sebastien Wenta (POL), Don Pope (USA)
Heat 3: Kevin Nee (USA), Mark Felix (UK)
Heat 4: Mariusz Pudzianowski (POL), Dave Ostlund (USA)
Heat 5: Terry Hollands (ENG), Magnus Samuelsson (SWE)
Here are the finalists. Don't know how many people here actually follow this at all, I myself won't pretend to do much more than catch the episodes when they show up on ESPN2.
Phil Pfister won the thing last year, but apparently Mariusz who is arguably the best strength athlete of all time, is in the form that has won him multiple WSM titles, as he absolutely murdered his heat.

What....no Big in the finals?
Re: 2007 World's Strongest Man
Shouldn't this be The Worlds Strongest Man/Worlds Smallest Pecker Championships?
Re: 2007 World's Strongest Man
Standings after the first day...
1. Pudzianowski-19 pts
2. Wenta-16
3. Pfister-15
4. Samuelsson/Hollands (tie)-12
6. Ostlund-10
7. Nee-9
8. Pope-8.5
9. Felix-6.5
Tarmo Mitt was injured in the first event of the day, the barrel loading medley and has withdrawn.
The other event was a 125 kg safe press, which was if I understand correctly basically a yoke, with two safes hanging off the end.

Mariusz Pudzianowski is half Ox half Gorilla. Simply incredible.

Re: 2007 World's Strongest Man
For Kazmier fans - one of the original monsters in the sport who took it from an ad-hoc bodybuilder/weightlifter thing - to a sports of it's own.... I have a fun story.
This was Southern California in the 70's..... money making Kegger parties in a place called Valley Center in San Diego county. We had this place with a fenced yard, hired bands (no known bands but more than one noted big time musician was part of the hires), and of course bouncers to keep the peace. These things were huge. Half the money we made (the stuff we kept records on) went to a church, to keep us from tax trouble.
Anyhow..... we used Kaz - who was working out in a word class hole in the wall powerlifting gym called Free's' gym in San Marcos - as a bouncer. He was a serious roid monster, 350 (when that was big), had a v-shape, and was athletic as well. People would actually want to fight him. He hit a guy so hard he ended up seperating that guys face from his skull (serious stuff). We had to quit using him after that.
A year or so later he became a World Champion powerlifter, weights coach for Auburn, and then on to Strongest Man competitions.
