Don't most teams change their signals during the game?

Crap, I remember that. My first exposure (right around the time you hit 40) was 1968. I listened a lot to the radio, and read the sports page everyday (I was eight and a bit of a strange child), and heard nothing but positive things. They would do well during the exhibition season too. Then the season would start and they would get crushed. Nonetheless, I have always had a soft spot for the Patriots.
    Brother Spider,
I remember the old Boston Patriots too. I loved their helmets with the Old Colonial guy hiking the ball! Sam(Bam!) Cunningham was one of my favorite players!

I don't think this is that bad. I mean....its against the rules I know. I just wonder how much they really benefit from this. If they benefited optimally (they have the other team's plays down pat and can counter), its a lot worse than what I think they are really capable to use it for.

I could be completely wrong, and I am very disappointed. I just don't hate them that much for this.
    Brother Grips,
I think it is a pretty big deal advantage wise. Last night on MNF, Ron Jaworski talked about what a difference it made for him knowing the defense signals, and recited a story about getting a TD simply from getting a tip about an opposing coach's signal.

    Brother MOJO,
I'm sure that knowing another teams signals is a huge advantage, the question is does videotaping give you a significantly better chance at figureing out their signals than just watching them give the signals and taking notes?

Heck, I remember Jim Nance (NCAA wrestling champ from Syracuse), Babe Parelli, Gino Cappeletti, Nick Buonticonti, etc. etc. Those were the days, my friend.

(sorry for all the misspelled names, but I'm too busy right now to look them up)

Another fun wrinkle in this story: according to the Wall Street Journal, Belicheck can deduct his fine on his taxes.
