Preacher Roe of the Brooklyn Dodgers and Herb Score of the Indians.
I don't really remember Preacher Roe, even though I was a childhood fan of the Brooklyn Bums. He retired about the time I was first becoming aware of baseball as something other than a back yard game.
Herb Score was magnificient. He joined an Indian rotation that included Bob Lemon, Bob Feller, and Early Wynn. Had he not been injured in his third year he may have gone on to be better than any of them.
So tell me, you Ohio folks, what would the Indians give to have four pitchers like that now?
