Default Women of Wrestling Talk...help me out

Now, I know more women post here then on the "other site", so hopefully you ladies can help me understand what might be the motivation here.

I dated a girl for 2 1/2 years or so. We broke up over a year and a half ago. We haven't spoken, not even once since. We broke up because another guy came into the picture for her while I was in my 3rd month of law school. The gentleman in question is a rodeo clown (yes it's true) and he is now her husband. Anyway, so out of the blue today, I was sititng in class and she IM's me and starts a brief conversation, essentially wihing me a belated happy birthday and good luck at school and other pleasantries. Now, I ask you, what is the motivation behind something like this? I mean, we literally haven't said a word to each other, I've actually pretended as if she doesn't exist when we're in the same room (not often, but it has happened due to mutual friendships). So what would prompt this? It just doesn't make any sense to me. Thank you in advance.

Well, Vakster, it's the classic grass is greener syndrome. There may (or may not) be issues in her marriage, and/or she's bored, so she started thinking. What if my life was different? What if I wasn't married to this clown? I wonder how Vakster, that wrestling lawyer, is doing?

Now, this is just a guess, but I'm going to bet that it's more about her issues than anything with you. I would run screaming in the other direction.

You got dumped for a rodeo clown... can life get any lower?
I will smash your face into a car windshield and then take your mother, Dorothy Mantooth, out to a nice seafood dinner and never call her again!

Tell me about it, this morning, I woke up and I shit a squirrel, but what I can't get is the damn thing is still alive. So now, I've got a shit covered squirrel running around my office and I don't know what to name it.

it may also be that she wants YOU to still want HER. Even if she's not interested in you anymore, she wants to see if she still has any kind of "hold" over you. As Blue said, she could be wondering about 'what might have been' but my guess is that she's just messing with you to help inflate her ego in case you show signs that you'd take her back if you could.

I have given this same opinion to another male member of this board. Unfortunately he never takes my advice until it's too late (ahem). But I digress.

But I totally agree with Bluestater on this - regardless of her motivation -- run screaming in the other direction. No good can come of it. Best to just ignore her.

"What if I wasn't married to this clown?" Sorry, but that just made me laugh.

Vak, I'm not a woman, but I have been through something similar to what Bluestater describes. I wouldn't be surprised if Bluestater hit the nail on the head.

    Bluestate/Stardust,

Thanks, that's pretty much what I analyzed as the possibilities. As to responding, fear not, I have no interest in going back down that road. I'm just trying to figure out if I've learned even a small bit about how women's minds work, and I think I have (not much though).

    Champ Kind,

Actually, I was the one who did the breaking up, but as their was another guy involved, I just didn't want to deal with that BS, I felt I was better then that and deserved more after 2 1/2 years. At the time, it WAS a pretty low feeling, but at this point, it's just a hilarious story that I can tell and everybody gets a good laugh out of. If you can't laugh at yourself, life can be a bit miserable, lol.
