The radio reports I've been hearing seem to really focus on the gambling aspect of the Vick case, as if to say that alone -- nevermind the apparent/alleged horrible treatment of animals -- would be enough to earn him a lifetime ban from the NFL. In other words, the Pete Rose of football, with a cruelty-to-animals aspect on top of that.

The thing that might be the key difference between Vick and Rose is that Vick wasn't betting on his own sport, or maybe not, not really sure either way.

Don't forget the states of NC and VA can also go after all 4 on separate state charges.
I'll hazard a guess he 18 months from the feds, out in 12 on behavior and more hefty fines but no time from the states. The states will look at this as an income generation opportunity.

The NFL slaps him with a 3 year suspension which basically takes his career away. Vick gets invited to some camp in 2010, get cut and fades into the VA pines.

I just want to say that I called it. And this is an admission of guilt and he lied. It also goes to show that the media can report it right.

That's a huge distinction, and why comparisons to Rose should be taken with a grain of salt.

"The media"? meaning what? Did they all treat this story the same?

And what did "they" report "right"? That Vick was involved in dogfighting? That's just part of the story. Why do suppose people all over the country are ready to hang him?

Because he tortured, electrocuted, drowned, and beat dogs to death?

    That's a hanging offense?

And when we find a kid in the neighborhood is torturing cats, we should do what? I'm waiting for O'Reilly to cover the story so we can all know what to think about such matters.
